| description: | These MODIS reflectance images were made by finding the most common value for each pixel in a MOD09 ISINUS tile over 4-7 time periods. This minimized clouded and cloud shadowed pixels in any particular tile. Several tiles were combined spatially to completely cover the areas of interest and then were reprojected to projections centered on the areas of interest. |
| comments: | Some clouded and cloud shadowed pixels still exist in the images. The Himalaya image is created from tiles spanning about 5 months, so seasonal characteristics were eliminated. |
